About the College
The college of computer studies is considered one of the leading colleges in this field among Sudanese universities.
It started with two programs, B.Sc in computer science and B.Sc in information
technology. Diploma programs were added in 2002.
The college also offers master's degree and PhD by research.
Location:
In addition to headquarters of the college at Burry, the college has two branches, one in Omdurman (2002) and another one in Almanshya (2004).
The collesge moved several times. It started in Arkawit (2001-2004). Then moved to Koober (2004-2008).
In 2008 it moved to its current location in the University's headquarters in Burry.
College standing:
The college became one of the preferred colleges for students' choices.
The number of admitted students continued to increase year after year
despite the increase in its tuition fees and the grades required for admission. The number of the college students now is about 4,000.
Students' support:
The college offers free admission for outstanding students and a reduction in the tuition fees for students who excel during their study. Also a reduction in the tuition fees is offered for the sons and daughters of police officers.
College deans:
(1) professor: Mudawi Mukhtar Elmusharaf (2001-2012),
(2) Dr. Mohamed Hassan Sayed (2012-2019).
(3) Dr. Wleed Ibrahim (2019-2024).
(4) Due to the absence of the college dean because of the war, professor Mudawi Mukhtar Elmusharaf was assigned
the task of supervising the college administration.
In 2025 professor Mudawi has been appointed as an acting dean for the college.
College support for the ministry of interior:
In addition to supporting them with a number of graduates in the area of ICT, the college contributed to the development of the computing department and cyber crime department
The college participated by teaching police officers in the police fellowship program.
College graduates:
College graduates now work in prestigious positions in public and private sectors inside and outside Sudan, in addition to
higher education institutions.

We also aim to meet the needs of labor market by providing it with qualified professionals in the field of ICT.
The college employs excellent faculty members and administrators who devote themselves to acheive the college goals of outstanding education and sound scientific research to serve the community.
